Meet Harry – Supporting our growing community at Hanwood Park
12 June 2025
As Hanwood Park continues to grow, we’re making sure shared spaces remain clean, safe and welcoming for everyone who lives here. A big part of that is having the right people in place – and that’s where Harry Stanbury comes in.
Harry has recently joined us as our on-site Property Manager. He works for Centrick, the new management agent at Hanwood Park, and is here three days a week to help keep everything running smoothly. From looking after green spaces to answering residents’ queries, Harry is your go-to for anything to do with the day-to-day grounds management of the development.
“I’ve been in estate management for six years now, and when I visited Hanwood Park for the first time, I knew this was something special,” Harry said. “It’s not just a site – it’s a place with real potential and a strong sense of community. I wanted to be part of that.”
What Harry Does
Harry is based at the Hanwood Park office and is on site regularly – walking the development, checking in with the grounds team, and picking up any issues that need attention. He’s broken the site down into three manageable areas, which allows him to keep a close eye on repairs, maintenance, bin collections, and anything that might affect how the area looks or feels.
Each week begins with a meeting with Hanwood Park’s Olivia to catch up on anything that came up the week before. After that, Harry heads out to speak with Simon from the grounds maintenance team and then takes a walk of the site – sometimes section by section, and sometimes the whole thing at once. This allows him to spot anything that might need fixing or flagging.
“If I come across anything that isn’t within our remit – for example, if a particular area is still under a developer’s control – I’ll pass that on. The main thing is making sure nothing gets missed.”
The grounds team, employed directly by Centrick, is out regularly cutting grass, weeding flower beds and keeping the public spaces tidy. This makes it easier for residents to see the ongoing work and know who’s responsible for what.
Harry also oversees things like the weekly bin collections (including dog waste), health and safety checks, and regular visual reviews to make sure everything is safe. A general risk assessment is currently underway, and any actions picked up will be followed through.
Why It Matters
Many residents aren’t always sure what a managing agent does – and Harry’s keen to change that. His aim is to bring a bit more clarity to the process, and to be someone residents feel they can talk to if something doesn’t seem right.
“I enjoy speaking to people and giving them a clearer idea of how we support the community,” he said. “Whether it’s about the bins, the playground equipment, or something that’s not working properly, I’d always rather have a conversation than go back and forth over email.”
That’s why Harry is introducing an open-door session at the Hanwood Park office every Tuesday from 10am to 12pm and 3pm-5pm. Residents are encouraged to drop in – whether it’s to raise a concern or just have a quick chat.
“I live just the other side of Stamford and I was brought in specifically to look after Hanwood Park. It’s great to now be on site and part of the team. After years of remote working, it’s been a refreshing change to get out and meet people again.”
A Bit More About Harry
When he’s not at work, Harry enjoys cycling, playing golf and watching football (he’s a Newcastle United fan). He doesn’t drink tea – but he does go through a lot of water. He’s also looking forward to getting more involved in Hanwood Park community events as they happen throughout the year.
Pop in and see Harry on a Tuesday, or email [email protected]. He’s here to help, and happy to chat.
