JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS PLANNED FOR KETTERING’S NEWEST NEIGHBOURHOOD

13 May 2022

Plans are well underway for a community event on East Wood Avenue, Hanwood Park on Sunday 5th June, to celebrate The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee 2022.

Hanwood Park is Kettering’s newest neighbourhood. Once complete, it will provide up to 5,500 new homes, four primary schools, a secondary school, shops, community buildings, employment spaces, leisure facilities, parks, and woodlands.

More than 500 homes at Hanwood Park are currently occupied and the new neighbourhood has an active residents’ association, which is supported by Hanwood Park LLP (the master developer), to organise a broad range of community events throughout the year.

“There’s a great sense of community at Hanwood Park and the many families who live on the development are keen to get together regularly and take part in a variety of activities,” says Rachel Underwood on behalf of Hanwood Park LLP. “Our recent Easter event was very well attended, and we received some great feedback, so we’re looking forward to the Platinum Jubilee Celebrations next month.”

The Jubilee Celebration will take place between 12 noon and 4pm on Sunday 5th June, with food, drink, stalls, games, and entertainment for people of all ages.

“We will be running several competitions on the day,” says Hanwood Park Residents’ Association Chair, Fiona Banks. “Prizes will be offered for cake making, best dressed, and top Jubilee dog! We also have a range of fun activities planned to keep everyone entertained – including a bouncy castle for the younger children, crazy golf, and a penalty shootout game.”

Anyone who would like to join the Hanwood Park Platinum Jubilee Celebrations is encouraged to follow the Hanwood Park Residents’ Association Facebook page.
