Shops and Facilities

A District Centre is planned at the heart of Hanwood Park, providing residents with everyday shopping, places to eat and drink, and space for community activities and events. Current proposals include a food store, a nursery, and up to nine retail units, with discussions under way with a range of operators. Positioned adjacent to the proposed secondary school and facing the central open space, the District Centre will also serve neighbouring communities at Ise Lodge and Barton Seagrave. This area is also home to our brand new community café – Café Roots.

Smaller local facilities will are planned at key locations across the development, catering for essential shopping needs and offering space for leisure and community use alongside the primary schools.

Health provision is also a priority. Sites have been reserved for GP and dental facilities, and discussions are ongoing with the NHS and Integrated Care Board about how and when these will be delivered.
